Frequently Asked Questions

About the Prints

What is a giclée print?

A giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay”) print is a high-quality reproduction of artwork, designed to capture the beauty, detail, and vibrancy of the original piece. The term comes from the French word gicler, meaning “to spray,” which refers to the process of using advanced inkjet printing technology to create the prints.

Giclée prints are produced using archival-quality inks and acid-free paper or canvas. These materials ensure that the colors are rich, accurate, and long-lasting. In fact, giclée prints can maintain their vibrancy for decades when cared for properly, making them an excellent investment for art collectors.

Unlike standard prints, giclée prints are created with exceptional attention to detail. They preserve the subtle textures, color gradients, and intricate elements of the original artwork, offering a result that is nearly indistinguishable from the original.

By offering giclée prints, I aim to provide my customers and collectors with accurate reproductions of the original work that honor the integrity and emotional depth of my art, while ensuring lasting quality in your home.

What types of artwork do you sell?

I sell high quality giclée reproductions of my original artwork as museum quality fine art prints or bookmarks, as well as the occasional original pieces and more items in the future (make suggestions for items you would like to see in my shop by getting in touch with me here). My work is often described as emotional. I explore the human condition through bold expressions in watercolour, ink, charcoal, and graphite.

Are your prints signed?

Yes, each print is signed by me to ensure authenticity and add a personal touch.

Do you offer custom sizes or commissions?

I do not offer custom-sized prints at this time. However, please get in touch with me here if there is something you would like to see in my shop in the future and I will consider it for future shop updates. Sign up for [my newsletter] if you would like to receive updates on what I’m working on next and when new items are available.

I offer (very) limited commissions. I create art primarily for myself and if I’m not excited about what I’m doing or have some kind of connection to it, it just isn’t going to be fun for me. If you have an idea for something you need done that I might think is cool, please get in touch with me using this form.

How are your prints made?

I make everything myself out of my home. My prints are created using a professional-grade printer, archival quality pigment inks, and premium fine art paper.

The first step is creating the original artwork. Once that is completed, I scan my artwork and adjust the colours so they will print out as an accurate replica of the original.

Do the prints come framed?

No. Shipping a heavy frame/glass is a logistical nightmare. I believe the act of picking out a frame for a piece of artwork is best left to the person displaying it! We all have such different tastes for home decor, but if you are ever curious about my opinion on a frame’s suitability for a specific piece please reach out.

Shipping & Returns

How long does shipping take?

Orders are shipped from Canada. Orders are packed up and out my door within a week (usually a lot less) and while shipping times can vary depending on a multitude of factors, you can generally expect around 7-14 days for domestic orders. I’m doing all of this on my own so thank you for your patience.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I offer international shipping. I live in Canada and have flat rate shipping to both Canada and the USA. If you don’t see your country listed please reach out to me directly at we************@gm***.com and I will gladly find shipping rates and add your country to my checkout.

What if my print arrives damaged?

Every effort is made on my end to ensure the prints are packaged safely and securely with love before they leave my hands, but accidents still happen and prints can become damaged during transit. If this happens, please contact me immediately with photos of the damage. I’ll work with you to send a replacement.

Do you accept returns?

Due to the nature of art prints, I generally don’t accept returns. If there is an issue with your order, please reach out to me and I will do my best to resolve it.

Care Instructions

How should I care for my art print?

To keep your print looking beautiful for decades to come, avoid exposing it to direct sunlight. Over time, UV light can cause even the highest quality pigments to fade. Framing your print with UV-protective glass is recommended for added protection. Keep your print out of extreme temperatures or high humidity.

How long will the print last?

My giclée prints are made by myself using carefully researched archival and museum quality materials, ensuring they can last for decades without fading or discoloration when cared for properly.
